Karla Curtis

President

Karla was born and raised in the small midwestern town of Mexico, MO. After graduation from the University of Missouri, she moved to the Washington, DC area where she worked for IBM as a programmer and manager of systems and programs for 18 years. After completing her Master’s in Organizational Development, she left IBM and worked as a trainer and consultant, assisting organizations in systems improvements. Her clients included the U.S. Marine Corps, Library of Congress, and IBM. In 1995, she moved to Powhatan, and, in 1997, joined her husband’s company PIEtech, Inc. as VP of Operations, and as the company grew, transitioned to VP of Legal & Compliance. Karla retired from PIE in 2018.
Karla was on the Board of the Elizabeth Randolph Lewis Powhatan Y from 2014 – 2016, and has served on the Board of the Free Clinic of Powhatan since 2018.
